Heidi | Reading & Activity Bundle
$12.99

Our adaptation retells Heidi in 10 shorter, sequential chapters using clear, approachable language and a gentler pace. This large-print story and activity bundle is designed for older adults who may find the original novel too dense, the print too small, or the chapters too long for a comfortable sitting.

Heidi is a cheerful young orphan sent to live with her gruff grandfather in a hut high in the Swiss Alps, where she comes to love the mountains and the people around her. When she is later taken away to the city, both Heidi and those she left behind discover how much they need the mountains, and each other, to be truly well.

Classic Adaptations

Familiar public-domain classics thoughtfully retold in clear, accessible language.

These are adaptations, not large-print reprints. Each collection is newly written for comfortable pacing, shorter reading sessions, and easier use on the printed page.

Original Stories

Warm, nostalgia-centered collections inspired by shared eras, everyday experiences, and memories of growing up.

Themes may include life in past decades, home and family, familiar traditions, cultural moments, and the small experiences people remember.

Why The Later Chapter exists.

I moved back home last year to take care of my parents. The Later Chapter grew from my experience, noticing how often books, devices, apps, and activity sheets did not fit the moment.

More and more, I defaulted to designing and printing out things on my own to leave for them to use. Paper with large type was much easier to use.
